It’s time to put away my summer decor and add all of my favorite fall decor and that includes updating my screensaver options for my TV that turns it into a piece of art! I don’t have one of those fancy Frame TVs - although if I ever had a room with a mantel and was able to get one, I would absolutely splurge for one! Instead, I found a budget-friendly way to turn my “normal” smart TV into a piece of artwork.

How to set artwork as your screensaver on Apple TV

Setting artwork as your screensaver on Apple TV is a simple and straightforward process that allows you to showcase stunning visuals on your Smart TV. All I had to do was create a shared photo album on my phone that I then used for my screensaver selection. If you also have Apple TV, follow these steps to transform your living room into an art gallery:

1. On your iPhone, create a Shared Album that you can move any photos to that you want to see on your TV. Make sure that your photos are cropped to a 16:9 landscape format.
2. To update your Screensaver, start by navigating to the "Settings" menu on your Apple TV and select “General.”
3. Scroll down and select "Screen Saver."
4. Under “Type” you can select “My Photos” and then choose the Shared Album that you are using for your screensaver photos. (I have a shared album titled “TV Screensaver” where I put my artwork and images.) Note: You will want to make sure that your Shared Album and your Apple TV account both have access to the Shared Album.
5. Now you can update any other settings for your Screen Saver, including “Start After” and Transitions.
6. If you go back to “General” settings, you can also choose to change the “Sleep After” settings - this tells your TV how long to run the Screen Saver until it turns the TV off. Since I want to see my Artwork for longer periods of time, I have mine currently set at “5 hours.”

With the ability to choose from a vast collection of artwork, you can curate a screensaver that reflects your personal taste and style. You can put multiple pieces of artwork into your Shared Album so that it will change every couple of seconds, or you can add only one image to the folder at a time so that it will only show that specific piece of artwork.
