I love Valentine’s Day. 💗 Always have… as a kid exchanging physical cards with candy, as an adult and a single woman, and also now that I am married. I’m not necessarily all about the boxes of chocolate and flowers and jewelry, but I do really appreciate fun simple moments to remind someone of how much I love them! My husband and I will often do homemade cards for each other and make heart-shaped pizzas for our Valentine’s Day.
This year, my husband and I have booked a couples massage at our local MassageLuxe (where I go occasionally for a massage by myself), which got me thinking about how much I love self-care gifts for Valentine’s!
I lived many years as a single woman without someone to shower me with gifts or quality time for Valentine’s Day, but instead of wallowing in my singleness, I often chose to celebrate it and spend some intentional time taking care of myself. Even now that I am married and am a mom, self-care gifts are one of the greatest ways that I feel love from others - some comfy, cozy items and some time to myself and I feel like a new woman!
The items in this blog post have been updated as of January 2023.
Self-Care Gift Ideas
Whether you are celebrating a significant other this Valentine’s Day or want to celebrate a single woman and remind her that she is loved in this season of singleness, you can’t go wrong with any form of self-care gifts! I’m sharing some of my favorite self-care items that I personally own or ones that would be on my own list!
baskets
My best recommendation if you want to gift some self-care favorites to someone for Valentine’s Day is to put together your own self-care gift basket! There are so many cute baskets out there and I’m sharing a few of my favorites! You can keep it small and add one or two items that you think they will love or go big and add at least one item from each of the categories below!
pajamas
One of my favorite gifts that I got recently for Christmas was a set of pajamas - the Nordstrom Moonlight V-Neck Pajamas, to be exact. I love these pajamas so much that I really want to snag this beautiful set again in the pink color!
slippers
How many slippers are too many slippers?? I have several pairs that I happen to wear quite often throughout the week. Right now my favorite slippers are this pair of mocassins from LL Bean that have a hard sole, which makes them great for stepping out the back door when I let the dog out to pee or grabbing any packages off the front porch. Give someone that you love the joy of cozy for their feet this Valentine’s Day!
massage & muscle relief
This is by far my favorite form of self-care! I actually booked a Couple’s Massage for both myself and my husband as an early Valentine’s gift - an afternoon to rest and relax. So I would always recommend getting gift cards for a local massage as a Valentine’s gift for someone. But even if you don’t want to spend the money to go somewhere for a massage, there are other great cost-effective ways to enjoy some self-care and muscle relief.
MassageLuxe Gift Cards - this is where my husband and I are going for our Valentine’s Day outing.
fluffy bath robe
There is nothing more comforting than wrapping yourself up in a giant fluffy robe after a shower or relaxing bath! I have a giant white fluffy robe that I picked up from Target one year and am so thankful that I did - it’s like being at a spa without having to leave home.
bath time
Along with fluffy robes, I’m all about those bathtime accessories for my at-home self-care moments! Bath bombs, bath salts, bubble bath… so many ways to make a long soak in the tub more enjoyable.
nails
I’ve shared before about these imPRESS nails that are SO great for my mom lifestyle (but honestly, are so easy and fun to use, no matter who you are) - but I also love a good nail polish, too. I recently tried out the ExprEssie nail polish, and while I didn’t like how thick it was when it went on, I really enjoyed how fast it dried! It was incredible! Painting my nails while watching a show is another way that I enjoy self-care moments.
skincare
I’ll be honest - this is not an area that I usually indulge, even for self-care times. I don’t do much along the lines of face masks, scrubs, or skin routines… but I know how many people enjoy them, so I can’t ignore this category in this post! I’ve added a few that others have recommended, as well as a few items that I would be super curious to try out. I do love lip scrubs and sugar scrubs for an occasional rejuvenation, especially in the middle of winter when everything is so dry!

blankets & pillows
Give me a fluffy or fuzzy blanket, a new mug with a hot drink, and a book or movie night and I am in my happy zone! My husband, family, and friends can never go wrong with gifting me a new blanket. 😂
warm drinks
I really need to clear out my cabinets of old mugs that I don’t use so that I can introduce some of these beauties soon. I think a sweet mug with a gift card or some warm drinks can be a simple way to show someone that you care about them and their well-being or that you love them.
indulgent treats
I know that chocolates and candy is very common as gifts for Valentine’s Day, but depending on the person and the type of treats, some incredible chocolate or a favorite candy can mean a lot to someone on Valentine’s Day! So I’ve rounded up some incredibly special or delicious treat ideas that you could add to a self-care gift this Valentine’s Day.
journals & books
Did you know that self-care journals were a thing?? I’ve listed a few journals, books, and Bibles in this list because I think having a good book and some time to yourself is one of the greatest forms of self-care there is.
candles
More candles, please! I love adding a candle in with a gift set for someone and have always appreciated receiving a new candle as a gift from someone!
gift cards
Whether it’s something that you throw inside of a card for someone or include it in a gift set, even the smallest of gift cards can be a sweet way to remind someone that you care about them and want them to feel loved this Valentine’s Day! I’ve included several options for gift cards that go along with this self-care theme!
When it comes to gift-giving, there’s something special about offering a present that uplifts and inspires faith. For Christians or women seeking encouragement in their spiritual journey, thoughtful gifts can become treasured reminders of God’s promises and love. Whether it’s a beautiful journal for prayer, a Bible study to deepen understanding, or a keepsake adorned with Scripture, these gifts serve as daily sources of encouragement. This guide highlights meaningful and faith-filled ideas perfect for sharing hope and inspiration with those you love.
