I have always loved receiving Christmas Cards! I love hanging them somewhere special in the house so that I can see the faces of friends and family and can be intentional to pray over them. Years ago, I made a decision even as a single lady to create and send out my own Christmas Card so that I could also be remembered around this time of year and show up on my friends’ refrigerators or special Christmas Card display.
Over the years, I have used several different services for creating and sending out Christmas Cards, but my absolute favorite to use is Minted! They have a stunning selection of card designs and also offer free envelope design and addressing. And I LOVE the address book feature - means that I don’t have to write everyone’s address out by hand, and can keep them in the address book from year to year!
Our Christmas Card Design for 2021
This year, we decided to go with a fun “classic” design and color scheme for our Christmas Cards. Last year we stuck to cream and dark green colors, and this year I really wanted to highlight some fun bright reds. I found a fun red sweater for Oliver and got my husband a new Liverpool FC sweatshirt on sale from Target so that he could wear that under one of his favorite black Vans jackets - while I want our photos to be somewhat dressed up, I also want us to be comfortable and look like ourselves and our normal style in these cards that will hang on our friends’ walls for weeks or months to come!
So when it came to the card design, I wanted to pick out a theme that helped to highlight this classic red and green combo, and also had a message that shared our overwhelming joy this season. Usually, I am drawn to a one-image design for the front of the card, but my husband’s one request this year was to use multiple photos and the design that you see below was the winner for this year! I also opted to add some extra images to the back to go along with our short message to our friends and family. We keep our message short and simple because I like to do a “year in review” blog post later in December to share highlights of our year for everyone to read. It’s kind of like our recap of the year in a digital form, instead of writing out a long newsletter!
Our cards should be arriving sometime this next week so that I can put them in the mail to get out to family and friends in the next few weeks, but I wanted to share them with you all now because Minted is going to be running an incredible sale for Cyber Monday that I don’t want you to miss out on! If you still need to get some Christmas Cards created and ordered for this season, make sure to check out the designs and sales that Minted has to offer!
