May started out as a fairly “low-key” month for us at home - lots of playtime in our backyard, continuing to make updates to our gardens and play areas for the kids. We also took a trip north to NY state to spend time with family, so several of our favorites this month are must-haves for traveling with kids! If you want to see even more of my travel must-haves, don’t miss my Travel Essentials for Toddlers & Babies blog post.

Favorite Finds from May 2024

Kids’ Art Frames

I’ve had these art frames for a while, but finally put them on my wall and loved putting the kids’ Mother’s Day artwork into them that they made for me at church! So sweet. I have one frame for each kid and it holds up to 100 pieces of art. You can choose to hang them portrait or landscape.

Hot Pink Crossbody Purse

My husband and I finished out a “date night” recently with a fun little kid-free shopping trip at Target and I found this beauty of a hot pink crossbody purse and fell in love! The perfect addition to any summer outfit.

Raised Garden Bed

We’ve been spending a lot of time fixing up our backyard this spring and removed some old wooden garden beds that were rotting and a bit too large for the space. This raised garden bed was perfect for our little backyard - we planted tomatoes, peppers, rosemary & basil. These metal garden beds also come in smaller sizes - we wanted to fit the same length as our previous beds, but opted for the higher height in order to keep the puppy out of our garden.

Over-the-Door Pantry Organizer

Since getting a new little puppy, we needed some additional storage solutions for our puppy treats and other small puppy items. The hanging pantry organizer is perfect for adding some additional storage solutions for your closets or pantry spaces.

Outdoor Wash Station

As a mom of littles who love to get dirty outside, I came up with a solution for washing off little hands and feet in the backyard after digging in the dirt or running around barefoot! I bought a “shower floor” to go over the drain hole that we have under the faucet, but it is also easier to stand on than the rocky old concrete of our patio. I also got a faucet splitter so that I could keep the hose on one side and added a flexible faucet extension that the kids can use to wash off their hands and feet. Note: buy plenty of plumber’s tape to keep the faucet sealed so that it doesn’t leak and much.

Excavator Digger Toy

We pulled this excavator digger toy out of the basement so that my son could use it this summer in his rock and dirt digging pit. It’s such a fun toy - lots of bang for your buck!

Bubble Umbrellas

My daughter is semi-obsessed with umbrellas right now and since we live in the city and love to take walks even when there’s a light rain, I thought this set of bubble umbrellas was perfect for the kids. Helps to keep them dry and the clear factor means they can see where they are going much easier.

KiwiCo Subscription

We are such big fans of these KiwiCo crates! We have the Koala crate for my son, which comes once a month and this Panda crate comes for my daughter every other month and includes toys that are age and development appropriate! The fishing set has been her absolute favorite!

Coffee Mug Warmer

I’m someone who is slow to drink my coffee and often prefer it that way when I am working in my office - and I don’t always love to drink out of my travel mugs with lids. I got this mug warmer so that I could drink a full mug of coffee and keep it warm the whole time! It has a pressure-sensor which means it will only stay on with the weight of the mug on it. You can change the temperature simply by pressing the same button that turns it on. You can also change the mug style. Simple, yet effective!

Toddler Air Mattress & Nap Mat

This toddler air mattress is not new to us, but we did buy a second one so that each of our kids has their own mattress when we travel. Instead of hauling sets of sheets and blankets for each kid, I opted to get these nap mats for each of them - allows them to have a padded blanket under them, an attached pillow, and a thin blanket that lays over the top of them! Plus it rolls up into its own little nap mat roll. There are TONS of colors and patterns - I picked a few designs that I liked best for each kid and then showed them that small list and let them pick their favorite design.

Travel Tray Plate for Cupholder

These travel trays are the GOAT for road trips with kids! It fits into the cupholder on their car seat and makes it much easier to enjoy snacks or a meal without it falling all through their car seat (unless your wild toddler decides to pull it out of the cupholder and throw it onto the floor 🫠 - cleanliness is not guaranteed. 😅

Toddler Duffel Bag & Packing Cubes

Packing for my toddlers is much simpler with packing cubes! This is the set that I have for my son - I recommend getting each kid their own color to make it easier to identify their clothes when you are at your destination. I used one large packing cube for their main outfits and a smaller packing cube for pajamas, underwear, overnight pull-ups, etc.

And these duffel bags are the perfect size for my toddlers! I can fit one large and one medium packing cube into the bag, plus a few odds and ends. It also has a compartment on the side for their shoes (or anything else you want to keep separate).
