Every year I look forward to sending out and receiving Christmas Cards! I love hanging them somewhere special in the house so that I can see the faces of friends and family and can intentionally pray over them. Years ago, I made a decision even as a single woman to create and send out my own Christmas Card so that I could also be remembered around this time of year and show up on my friends’ refrigerators or special Christmas Card displays.

Over the years, I have used several different services for creating and sending out Christmas Cards, but my absolute favorite to use is Minted! Our Christmas Card Design for 2022

This year, we decided to go with some tan and burgundy wine colors - which actually feels like quite a wild card for me! But I already had a tan dress from a family wedding we attended this summer and I had an adorable deep pink mauve dress for Ainsley, and I knew that Eric already had a maroon burgundy colored shirt, so it was easy to find something for Oliver to wear in that color scheme.

When it came to the card design, I wanted to pick out a theme that helped to highlight this color scheme and helped to highlight our main family photo. Last year we went with multiple images of our family on the front, so this year we went back to one main photo. I once again chose to add some extra images to the back to go along with our short message to our friends and family. We keep our message short and simple because I like to do a “year in review” blog post later in December to share highlights of our year for everyone to read. It’s kind of like our recap of the year in a digital form, instead of writing out a long newsletter!

This year I also chose to have our return address printed on the back of the envelope for just a bit more money - but as a busy mom with two littles in the house, I found it to be worth it so I don’t have to stamp or sticker (or write!) my return address on all of the envelopes. Our cards came in just a few days (I’m always surprised at how fast they arrive!) and now I just have to get some stamps for the ones that need to go in the mail!
